Oh hey. I didn’t see you there. But enough about you, let’s talk about me. I am a West Coast boy who grew up in Texas and wound up on the East Coast. Now I am a 22-year-old political journalist freelancing with the New York City News Service. I have previously interned for The Dallas Morning News Washington bureau, the Houston Chronicle’s Austin bureau, Gannett’s Washington bureau and the Texas Tribune.
I came back to Washington after I graduated summa cum laude from St. Edward’s University with a bachelor’s degree in political science. While at St. Edward’s, I did all sorts of things — putting googley eyes on trees; working as a resident assistant; serving as chief justice of the Student Court of Appeals; working in the Sports Information Department and as a public address announcer; and working for the campus newspaper, Hilltop Views. While I was there, I discovered my love of journalism. I became news section editor and, later, editor-in-chief of the publication.
This website is both personal and professional. I will link to my professional work in journalism and I will blog from time to time about my life or whatever else catches my eye.
I hope you enjoy my website and come back time and again. To quote Ray Kinsella, “I built this for you.”
(This is where you would say, “There are others, you know. There were eight of us. It would really mean a lot to them.”)
(And then I would say, “Yeah. Any time. They’re all welcome here.”)
(Then, just as you were about to hit the red X button on the top of your browser because you have a real life to live, you would then ask, “Is this Heaven?”)
Nope. It’s just my website.

Love the blog. Love the video. You’re a piece of work, Tristan (in New York, that’s a compliment).
